Your group must research past historical rebellions to find the best tactics to win this Hunger Games uprising. You will research both successful rebellions and failed attempts of the past to make this uprising a clean win. Find information about each rebellion listed and create an argument defending the best war tactics. Your research and conclusion will be complied in a final group paper. The paper must be 5 pages long and include the following five elements:
1. Read the resources on each rebellion listed. You can also use other websites that are not listed, but they must come from reliable sources! (No Wikipedia, no blogs, no biased articles! Use the criteria discussed earlier in class!)
2. Decide if each rebellion was a success or a failed attempt. To do this, first define what makes a rebellion successful - creation of a new government, majority support, an immediate succession, etc. Then, using the crieria you came up with for what makes a rebellion successful, state whether each rebellion was success or a failure.
3. Find supporting evidence for your claim. Clearly explain why, in your eyes, this rebellion was or was not a success.
4. Determine what tactics the helped or hurt the rebels in their cause. What specific actions did the rebels do that worked? What actions failed? To do this, find what all of the successful rebellions have in common and what all the failed rebellions have in common.
5. Create a final proposal of the tactics that should be used in the Hunger Games uprising to make it a success. The tactics should reflect the actions the rebels used in the successful rebellions. Relate the tactics directly to the situation in Panem and how citizens of the districts could actually use them.
6. Make a creative presentation to propose your tactics to President Coin. For further guidance on this, click on "Proposal" tab on the top left side.
7. Be creative and have fun!
